Just recently acquired an '88 full size bronco with push button 4x4. The switch has power in and out and there is a definitive click in the dash. Heard that there is a motor that engages the 4x4. Is this motor bad, and ho do you remove it?

Hey! I have a 1992 Bronco, and it acted the same way. I took a hammer and tapped on the side of the motor. Then it started working. I did it probably once a year, for 2 years. Now it has been working ever since. good luck!

have you found the problem yet? Also, mine does the same thing but only when it's very cold out and after 5 or 6 tries, it will eventually engage depending on how cold the weather is. Have you tried it in warmer weather.
