What is the coolest car you've ever driven or been in. This means on the street and in motion. Plus a story about it (if you want).
Mine would be a 2001 Ferrari 360 Modena F1 coupe (red, of course).
It was owned by my dad's cousin (who was a professional racer) and currently owns AASCO Motorsports in ALMS. We took it up to 3rd gear (about 100 mph) on the street. The sinlge greatest day of my life.
He's sold it and is #30 on the U.S. Lotus Elise delivery list. I think he has gotten it by now.

Been in, Mercedes McLaren SLR
Driven pretty much every Mercedes under the sun but a few that stand out are....
SL65
SL600 (R230)
SL55
CL65
CL600 (C215)
CL55
E55 (W211)
SLK55
Out of those my favorite is probably the SL65. There's nothing like driving Mercedes Benz twin-turbo V12 when you hit that sweet spot and you just feel 600 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. Though I do wish the tires on the thing could handle the power. Traction control is always going off which is probably a good thing cuzz it keeps idiots like me from ending up in a light poll. :grinno:
EDIT: Still waiting to drive the CLS55, that will soon be on the list I'm sure.

I was lucky enough to get a ride in a McLaren F1 LM last summer. It was the most awesome thing in the world. The noise from the engine is something I will never forget. Definitely the best day in my life so far.

If you don't believe me, this is a pic of me getting into it. A member from this board took it. If this still isn't good enough I have some taken as we are moving, a couple of me in the drivers seat, and I can even post a random picture of me from something else. I'm in class right now and they are saved on my external hard drive so I can't get to them. Ralph Lauren now owns the car but at the time a member on here owned it and was willing to give a ride to anyone who asked.

Yeah it was awesome. RL now owns like 3 or 4 Mclarens. Actually the LM that I rode in was crashed during testing after a break change a couple of weeks ago (something like that). Not too serious damage but it is in England right now getting fixed.

Yeah I'm sure that fool does. He doesn't deserve it tho. Tommy Hilfigure was dissapointed that his Enzo didn't have cup holders. I'm mad at people who own their cars just so that they can say that they own them. I was sick myself at seeing these people either owning, getting a ride, or just plan off seeing these cars. I was just lucky enough to get my once in a lifetime chance to get a ride, let alone a chance to see one of these cars. I am from a small country town with little chance to get one of these opportunities. I guess I am just one of the lucky ones.

1971/72/73/74? Bright Purple Dodge Demon with blower and and big shiny red nitrous oxide button inside. I was working at a car wash at the time in FL and when it came out of the wash bay it was my turn to drive the next car through the parking lot to the drying area for the cars. It was in immaculate condition with no dings or missing interior pieces. The thing just shook violently when it was idling. I think it had a real 426. So anyhow I smashed the gas and drove to the drying area. When I got out my co-workers had their eyes popped out and their mouths wide open after seeing me driving it like that. The manager did not look too happy and I thought I was going to get fired but then I looked over at the owner and he was standing there smiling. It was definatley worth it.

i haven't been in any of those fancy cars like you guys have, but when I was 16 the local Honda motorcycle shop let me drive their Stealth twin turbo. I thought the car is so damn sweet.
Then at 17 I met a guy online that had a Mitsubishi 3000 GT VR4, and fell in love with the car. At 22 I bought a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4, and that's been my favorite car to ride in. I found out a few months before I bought the car that the Stealth is basically the same car.
Before I bought my VR4, I told everyone that I would own one within 1 year. About 11 months later I purchased one. My goal now is to purchase a Viper w/i 3-5 years.

I guess I havent been in any REAL nice cars. Before I got my drivers liscense I got to drive a 99 Jaguar XJ6, and I was pretty stoked about that.... but my S Type is better. But still my thunderbird handled better than any car ive ridden or driven in, because of my insanely expensive suspension, but I guess thats not the topic. I've sat in some pimp ass cars at dealers and stuff, but since that doesnt count, then my S Type is the best car. Pretty sad.

The best car? I've driven a 2000 Porsche 911 a few times. My record is about 145 on 394. I've ridden in a 1993 Supra TT. I don't know if my poor 944 would count, but I drive that everyday, and my moms boss has an RX330 that i've driven.

Australia has never seen and will never see very good cars. The best ones are the ones they use for marriage ceremonies like those antique Jags and Bentleys. And by the way, Ford Falcons have pretty good performance for family car purposes (especially the XR6 Turbo, boosting 276 KW and is upgradable) except that they are no where near as big as average US cars lol (the engine is still 4.0L V6 though). Anyway, the best that I have ever been on has to be my brother's Supra SZ @ 170+10KW.

I just got a job at the local Porsche/ Bmw dealership. I'm the lot attendant which is a low level job but I get to drive a ton of sweer cars around. So far I have driven every new BMW 3 series, 5 series, and 7 series (except 760). Unfortunately no M series yet and the Z8. For Porsches I have driven a Boxter (S), Cayenne (S, Turbo), and 911 (Carrera, S, Targa, Turbo). There is a Carrera GT which I get to wipe down every day but that thing never gets moved. It's pretty sweet that I get to drive cars like this every day and I get paid for it.

so do you actually drive them, or do you just "drive" them around the lot, like moving them from parking spot to parking spot?
It varies. A lot of the time I am just moving them around the lot when I need to wash them. About once a week I get to gas up the ones that are low. Which requires me to drive them down the street (I always make the best out of pulling into the street). Every other day I have to run some errands and I can take whatever used car I want. I haven't taken a Porsche yet for this but will soon. But that gives me like 40 min to drive around town in whatever I choose. I have also helped deliver a couple of cars to some customers, which sometimes is an hour round trip. I have driven a Cayenne and Cayenne S doing this. I haven't done this yet but sometimes they need someone to drive a car to the partner dealership, an hour away. These are usually really nice cars and a chance for a lot of fun since no on else is with you for the trip. I can't wait till I get the chance to do this. I have only worked for 2 weeks and I have driven basically every model BMW and Porsche at least down the street and back. More time will bring increased trust from my bosses and more chances to drive nice cars. So that this was so long, but I wanted to give the complete picture.
