Turning Left 1996 Windstar

I finally got my battery fixed and was able to test drive the new rotor and brake. We fixed the right passenger side so far. Tonight is the drivers side. Anyway.. when I turned the wheel to the left it sounded like something was rubbing on that side?

When we changed the rotor there was nothing holding it on besides the brake. We have looked and looked and as far as we can tell this is correct?

We bought this from a farmer couple and it is covered in dust!! Literally cant see certain things due to the dust. Anyone have any ideas where to start on this rubbing noise? I thought I had seen a post before about this but I cant find it today.

In the case of my 95, it was a dried out sealed bearing on the drivers side tie rod. I used a grease needle attachment for my grease gun and threw some grease in and the noise stopped.

My experience with rubbing sounds when you turn a wheel to full travel has been the tire touching either loose wheelwell material or a foreign object i.e. mud build up etc. or in the case of a high mileage vehicle I once had, the tire actually touching the inner wheelwell due to excessive wear in the steering rack allowing over travel of the wheel.
