Fule Tank Filler Pipe? 98 Windstar

Okay, yet another problem, another question...
When I went for a trans. analysis the other day (yes, that's going too), they hooked up the car to the computer - came out with P0455 - GROSS LEAK. From what I could find from searching the web, this is probably due to the small piece that cracked off from the top of the pipe where you put in the nozzle when filling up your gas tank and put your gas cap in to.
Does anyone know if this is replaceable, this plastic pipe? I, of course, searched the web and can't find anything about this. Looked at AUTOZONE and they list a part, but not that it's available to order. Does it go by any other name(s)
Has anyone had this happen to them or am I just the lukcy one? Would this more than likely be the reason I got this code?
THANKS ONCE AGAIN!!!

Check the gas cap first. If it is not on tight, or the seal is bad, the code will set.

thats very interesting, a while back i had put in a bottle of injector cleaner and it bent back that metal piece, so now when you look at it you can see down the pipe. i have not received any ODII codes for this but does this cause any fuel economy problems?

Hey crazymoon. The little piece of metal you bent is a restrictor to keep you from putting the wrong type fuel in it. As long as the cap is sealed, this will cause you no problems.

Locking gas caps....pretty much always fail the emissions test....regardless of what car they are on.....and this is without a CEL.....If you have a locking gas cap.... Try a normal one to see if your code will stay cleared (once you clear it)...
