haha..no. AWD might lose 13-25%.

Anyone know the correct facts off the top of thier heads? only thing i know is FWD has the least amount of drivetrain loss while RWD is a close secound and AWD gets horrible loss. Stock WRX's Dyno for 170 HP wich is a 25% Drivetrain loss. I know this at least cause a friend of mine dynoed his WRX before he started modding. Minus 3 cats software update and fuel injectors and he is dynoing 220 whp.

how about AWD automatic. lol 30%? maybe

as far as force induction goes on 4 cyl. i would turbo all of them except ones with either no bottom end tq or and automatic tranny. then i would go with a supercharger.

What's wrong with turboing an automatic? Worked fine for the GN...

theres's nothing wrong with turboing an automatic...infact if i was hardcore into drag racing i'd go auto vs stand. cuz you dont loose boost between shifts

My point exactly.

If I turbo'd my automatic, the transmission wouldn't live to see daylight.

if u beefed up the tranny and put a shift kit on it and high stall tq converter then it should be fine.. i would still go with a super charger..

what do u all think the biggest advantage is with a turbo over a super.

easy to control boost, not as much power lost from turbos as to supers

In case I ever decide to go this route, how would I "beef up" the tranny? be more specific...also if I'm gonna get forced induction, wouldn't I have to get bigger injecters and an ECU that could handle my completely new fuel map and stuff like that? I mean, I know you can't just put a supercharger on a car and then do nothing else.

depending on how much your boosting would determain if u needed that.
you would def need to at least reprogram the ecu becuase u don wanna run to rich or to lean. if your go FI i would def recomend injectors and a new ecu u could get alot more out of your setup with them. As for beefen up your tranny............... i have no clue i have never messed with an auto... i would guess messen with the trq converter and a shift kit?

yeah I guess...but that wouldn't really strengthen or reinforce the transmission to keep it from breaking.

lid/drag radials and LS1s can run high 12s. The only thing that has turned me against the SRT-4 is that it's FWD. I was considering buying one..but now I'm definitely not. RWD/AWD is where it's at.

i forgot in what thread it was in but in 07 or 08 there gonna make the srt-4 rwd with 275hp and 310lb tq it was in here but i just cant find it but i think they were gonna make it a hachback. i'll link it when i find it

In regards to the original post, i'd say go with the SRT-4. The main reason I think they're great cars, is because Mopar backs you up if you buy their aftermarket products. I doubt the Chevy dealership would warranty the new mods I have on the WS6. SRT-4's run well in almost any environment (Altitude isn't as much of a factor as with a N/A car). SS camaros are not really that much different then Z28's. They essentially see their power from their exhaust system. The ram air system isn't as functional as the WS6's is. Author you could buy a WS6. They actually don't hold their value as well as an SS. I bought mine a couple months ago for $20K, w/ 38K miles on it (Fully loaded).

Mopar does not back you up. I know a guy who bought a brand new SRT-4...installed a mopar BOV. Brought it back for an oil change. They noticed the BOV. Voided his warranty. Mopar don't back up shit.

lmao a friend of mine has a dodge lancer, the thing has 40k miles on it. He got it becuase he needed a POS car to take to Tempe for ASU. It has a chrystler emblem and say dodge lancer... i was like wtf???? but he assured me there was no debaging or new badging. I thought it was hillarious.
