Try turning the key on, press and release the gas pedal three times, then start it. the light should go off. I'm not sure if this applies to your car but it works for most others.

you can also change it through the radio.

There are directions in the users manual.

The radio may be the only way to do it. The way I said works on most of the late 90's GM cars. The new gen. Impala's could be different.

How do you do it through the radio, it would be nice to know for future reference? That must be why you guys can't just swap out your radios...they are tied to the PCM.

The gas pedal method is the only way to do it in older cars, it tells how in the owners manual.

Go into the vehicle settings with the radio controls. With the key turned to ACC, hold DISP on the radio for about 6 seconds and it should go into settings mode. Press DISP until you see oil life in all caps, then use Prev. & Next to scroll to reset oil life mon., then push DISP again. you should here a beep and the display should read Done. Scroll to Exit and press DISP again.

Thanks, I never knew that the radio could access the PCM. I like it when I learn something. :)
