As I'm posting this I'm trying to remember what I used when I put my 400 cu in Chevy engine in my 1964 Bel Air back 13 years ago. First off are you sure the ones there on the frame won't work? The engine previously came out of a '78 Monte Carlo that I had installed two years before. I'm wondering if the V8 motor mounts from that car would work. I do remember not having much of a problem with the motor mounts, so it should be fairly easy to figure out. One thing you could do is find out (possibly through a GM dealer) if there is someone who has a lot of knowledge about the older GM vehicles and parts swapping. They might be able to give you some answers. Another place to try is the National Impala Association. They have members from around the world, and I'm sure at least a few have been in your situation before. On this site are other forums dealing with muscle cars, classics, fabrication, etc. you might want to try posting this question in some of these other forums to see if another member has some answers. Good luck.

I put a TH350 that was used with the engine in previous vehicles I owned. I installed a B&M shift kit in it. I have a floor shifter that I installed as well. The car originally was equipped with a manual but when I bought it it had no engine or tranny in it. I also kept the clutch pedal in place instead of removing it, just for looks. One interesting thing I found out about my Bel Air, when I was prepping the floor for new carpet, I found a date stamped on the floor pan and it was 2 weeks before JFK was assasinated.
