2000 sc1 jerks when slowing down

I have a 2000 sc1 sohc. For the past few months I've noticed something wierd when I let off the accelerator. When I let off of the gas pedal the car pulsates as it slows down. It's so weird. I let off the gas and the car jerks, goes, jerks, goes. It's not an extreme jerk, it's just a small, yet noticeble one. Any ideas. I haven't the slightest to what it is. It runs great. The tranny does it's job without jerking around when taking off. Thanks for any info.

has there been a noticable loss power/ ges mileage as well?

is it a manual transmission?
If it is then drop to nuetral to completly let off the accelorator, better for your transmission anyway.
is it mostly in first gear?
I have this problem and have just worked around it with nuetral, I think thats normal though
If its an automatic transmission (or manual) then you MAY need to adjust your idle throttle position with the screw on the bottom/front of your throttle body, either way repost giving your idle RPMs and see if you get the same suggestion
If it is then drop to nuetral to completly let off the accelorator, better for your transmission anyway.

the idle set screw should not need to be adjusted. however there is a chance you have a vacuum leak, probilly right by the #1 runner at the intake manifold gasket. spray some carb and choke cleaner in that area with the engine running to confirm. if there is a leak there the engine will bog down.

the idle set screw should not need to be adjusted. however there is a chance you have a vacuum leak, probilly right by the #1 runner at the intake manifold gasket. spray some carb and choke cleaner in that area with the engine running to confirm. if there is a leak there the engine will bog down.
Yeah manual transission... drop into nuetral...no longer lurching...

I wasn't thinking about a vacuum leak...
Again, bogging your engine down or running with any carb cleaner going through your intake is not good for your engine,
it is the easy way out to find a vacuum leak,
To check for a vacuum leak:
use a piece of aquarium hosing, put one end to your ear and move the other end around the seal that is suspected of leaking and listen for a "hissing" sound. You should be able to hear the air being pulled away from your ear through the tube if there is a leak.
