i am having some problems with my saturn ideling. when i am at a complete stop or parked in a parking lot with my car running, the temp goes above half and the rpms shoot up to 2000 and stays there, anyone have any ideas what the problem can be? (automatic)

the temp range is about normal, however there is a small chance the ECT needs replaced,

for the high idle, chances are the intake manifold gasket is at fault, common on later SOHC engines.
