Possessed power locks!!!!

Our power locks are going nuts on us! They are suddenly clicking non-stop, going for a minute or two, then stopping altogether. Or they'll suddenly relock for just one "click." Or the rear-entry lock will start clicking non-stop. I'm pretty sure it is a short, and I suspect that it is in the driver's side door, but I could be wrong. When we slam that door it can stop the non-stop clicking. Also, when it clicks, it will either just click or make a slurping sound.
Dh just spent the weekend cleaning out the EGR ports, etc. A few days before that the serpentine belt slipped off and had to be replaced. The week before that we had to replace the brake pads. It's always something, huh? Not exactly in the mood for another project, but I guess it is necessary.
Any thoughts?
TIA

Oh, I forgot to mention that sometimes the power windows don't work. Usually it is the passenger's side, but the driver's side will stop working as well, usually right when I get to the drive through at the bank or fast food restaurant.
Any thoughts?

Any thoughts? We're novices, but we're moving into a place with a garage next week and we're ready to do this ourselves. :)

This probably isn't going to help but I'll throw it out anyway. When I experienced my power locks going crazy, I tracked it to items in the back leaning against switch near the rear hatch. If you been carrying stuff in the back, you may want to check to se if they are bumping into the switch.

Ah-ha! That may just be it. We have a million things back there. I'll tell dh to check it out in the morning. Thanks for the tip!

I hope that was it. In my case, the computer (GEM?) would sense the vehicle in motion and attempt to lock all of the doors as a safety precaution. But, the item in the back would bump against or be resting against the rear switch in such a way as to unlock all of the doors. The computer would sense this and relock them. It was this back-and-forth tug-of-war.
Must admit it has happened twice and my wife was the responsible party for the items in back. So, it was her fault :-).

Eureka! That was it! In this case, it was dh's wife's fault too. I had two strollers, a playpen, and a bunch of other stuff in there.
Thanks for saving dh his entire Saturday!
