i didnt get a mustang cause i couldnt afford the insurnace on it. Im 20 and have a drinking and driving charge. Also at the time i was car shopping, v6 mustangs in the 2000+ model were about 12,000-13,000. I like mustangs, they are great american muscle cars without a doubt. The new ones make me cream my jeans everytime i see one. I didnt think the v6 mustangs were that fast stock, i nevr had a problem with one. Also my car is an AUTOMATIC. If i had a stick id be mid to low 14's. I just added a B&M shiftplus kit that should shave .1-.3 tenths of a second off my 1320, it was 40 bucks.
Thats cool, the reason we sometimes get jumpy on you (I have before with the "A mustang is not a performance car" comment) only because it seems you are always talking as if you were anti-mustang. Aka talking of times when you beat a stock mustang, and seems you are always comparing to mustangs.
Luckily my insurance is not bad because I have no tickets on my record, I have been on supervision twice (at the same time ~ my grandpa is a criminal attorney who kinda makes the judge tend to side with me when he is present). I currently pay $185 a month. Still pretty high, but im 17 and can afford it because luckilyy my parents still pay for food and the home, ect...
You have a nice cav thats no doubt... If that car pulled up next to me, id probally have a chuckle, untill I heard the s/c and watched it pull on me. Thats a good sleeper.
I also had a similar car, but not anywhere near as cool as yours. My first car was a Pontiac Sunfire 4 door auto. That thing would lose racing a granny in a walker. It was my first car, so w/e. So dont think I hate on your car, because ever since owning that sunfire, I have respect for basicly any car pushing over 110hp lol.

My first car was a 82 Mustang with a massive 2.3L engine with a tire shreading 88hp.:lol2:

i went from a 16.1 to a 14.7, that was a pretty shocking the power increase.

Another popular option on the 3.8 is stroking it over to 4.2. Alot of guys have done this instead of a turbo, and many have done both. Really it is all up to you and the money you want to spend on it. In the end, any motor can make a lot of hp you just have to decide where to draw the line.

It's not hard to make power with the 3.8L

Hey Silverstangs, the Justin @ VMP is the one I was talking about with the twin turbo setup and 400 horses on the stock bottom end.. And in reply to Neatofrito, I do not know how much a 4.2l conversion is, but I think that it, with a few bolt-ons puts you at about 215 rwhp as opposed to 165-170 rwhp. I think you can by the 4.2 with rotating assembly and pistons and block for like $3000 if I'm not mistaken, but it would definitely be much cheaper to do yourself. Rpm-mustang.com has a lot of motor options, and you can send your intake in for a port&polish with him if you like.

Exactly, you can show any modified car's dyno and say it is fast.

Would be funny to see a v6 mustang smoke a vette. I would love to see the face of the poor guy with the vette.

I don't know how much you know about cars..but theres more than just the engine. Okay, so you make 400hp. Cool. Now is your rearend/tranny/axles/suspension going to be able to hold up after you push the throttle to the floor a couple times? And yeah..like boosted331 said. If it was that easy to do..then why would I have spent $17,000 on a GT mustang when I could get a V6 for $8,000 and that turbo for $5,000 and make 400hp?
Because, like i say, Mustangs were made for V8's. anything less is rare and belongs in a museum! Nothin better than an american gas gussler! :lol2:
