I bought this intake off ebay and the seller told me that it would fit my 97 saturn sl 2. HERES THE PROduct,

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7944913293&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT

The Seller told me the intake would fit without any problems, but then i double checked and someone else told me that saturn redesigned the saturn sl engines in 2002 and the intake would not fit.

WHat do you guys think?

First thing is that the auction said it wasn't the real pic of the intake you're getting so you don't really know if the one in the pic is the same one you're getting just a different color or something, or if it is truly different than this one (this one most likely won't work but we'll get to that), you get the idea so probably wait till you get it to really know. otherwise, it's a little hard to judge from the pic but i think the cold air pipe is too long for one thing. I also believe the short ram pipe may not stretch out far enough to fit in front of the battery tray. The short ram should stretch out a little more and angle just in front of the battery tray then the second pipe should attatch there. it will be straight towards the other side of the battery tray then angle down into the left corner behind the bumper i believe. I haven't seen the actual setup of a cold air in a saturn in quite a while so im thinking from the top of my head. The left inner fender liner needs to be cut some to be able to route the cold air pipe and requires removing the left front tire.

a intake from a 2002 DOHC will NOT fit a 1997 DOHC, unless you take a hacksaw to it. and i think that is the right product in the picture, its just angled wrong at the connector
