help with 1997

I have a 1997 sable and there are a few things I am having trouble with. The glove compartment will not shut, and the trunk leaks. (The rubber appears to be intact around the trunk.) Sometimes when I start my car it will want to stall, but not when you give it the gas and it doesn't happen all the time. The drivers side door is always ajar, we unhooked it in the door to get the lights to stay off. Now the lock won't work, I can't get it to lock or unlock. The final issue is it blows cool, not cold air, but it's not over heating or anything.

I just had the break lines replaces as they were rusted and all the break fluid leaked out. So I am trying to get an idea on what is wrong with the other stuff.

The lights stay on because the Sable uses the door latch as a ground versus the old method of using a switch. When the door is closed the latch is supposed to ground the door so the lights go out. A very amazing and simple fix is to spray wd-40 on the door latch. This helps with the grounding.

the problem with the air conditioning is that it has to be recharged and there may be a leak in the system.

make sure the glove box lock isn't in the locked position, it won't close if it is.
