In the morning my car runs rough. After it warms it runs ok till I get to about 50mph. When it is idling in park or neutral it idles at about 2000. It will go down to about 1000 when I put it in drive. I need to know where the fuel filter is on my car. Does anyone think the filter is the problem or something more serious?

the fuel filter has a 100K mile service interval. mounted on/in/near the fuel pump, not exactly sure, the filter is a $90 only available from saturn, i don't know of any aftermarket sources.
what happens above 50?
the newer years SOHC have a habit of sucking in the intake gasket at the number 1 runner, in some really bad cases it may be sucked into number 2 also. i would check there first. spraying some carb and choke cleaner in that area will confirm the problem (engine will blog down)

You shouldn't be idling so high...I would adjust your throttle position screw (little bit at a time), to bring your idle RPMs down to about 1300 initial, 7-800RPM warm.
just in case you dont know, your throttle position screw is covered by a plastic or rubber cap and is what your throttle cable rotor rests on at its lowest position (it is a torx head screw)
