hi i have a satunr sl2 with 116 k miles, i recently ordered a aem intake, what else would make good HP upgrades. They are selling performance chips on ebay for like 6 bucks, do they work?

those chips are worthless, they just srcew up your A/F ratio. intake is a good start, i would follow with exhaust mods and a bored throttle body.

Yes, intake and exhaust are the things to start with; make the car "breathe better" by following up with headers. The ebay chips are crap. They are cheapo resistors (and when i mean cheapo i mean 5 cents) that tell the computer there is a cooler temperature so they add fuel for more power. I bought one for $30 and only got it cuz you can actually adjust it inside the car so it isn't fooling the computer all the time, but still, I could have bought the simpsons season 5 (just came out on dvd). spswebpage.com is a good source for parts. they sell a bored out throttle body or you can bore yours out yourself if you want.

It really depends on how much your willing to spend.. cheap stuff.. like they said ubove:intake, exhaust, throttlebody, spark plugs, ignition coil, hot wires, then the more expensive stuff like: pistons, intake manifolds, porting and polishing, nitrous, turbos, cylinder heads with a 3 angle, cams and rollers, it can go on and on as long as the money's there

how do you bore one out? is there a online guide? i mean, i dont know much about cars (and being young, i havent much time to learn) but my family members know a ton about it, so im sure they could all help me do this if it adds HP.. about how much HP by the way? and is it worth the effort?

this is basicly what i did, but with weak power tools, even my crappy job has a nice little boost.
