Pure sports cars vs. ricers

those doors are horrible

To get a heavily built supra u have to put in more than 100,000 dollars.
For that price you can get a vette throw a big block engine in it, dual superchargers (that comes up to around 1300 hp) and have it outrun anything on the road.

Seems like this topic is on every forum and the same agruments are tossed around.

The best thing to remember is 'to each its own'

The reason why you buy your car is because you like it. As long as it makes you happy, and you aren't causing other people harm, who honestly cares.

Drive whatever you own hard, and let others do the same.

I like the Evo, WRX STi, Type R, Mugen, Nismo and Mazdaspeed. What I don't like is ignorant people labelling fans like me as "Ricers". It is extremely insulting (especially racially insulting). Not only is the poster of this topic labelling the Japanese and for that matter, Asians, as people who can't make cars the standards of Westeners. For Pete's sake, at least acknowledge that Honda and co have created affordable cars that can susbstitute for those who don't have the cash to go buy a Porsche or a Beemer. I could write a book on why BMW's are too expensive for their own rights and are complete rip-offs. But I won't cause I like Beemers and I don't have anything against Germans. And I totally respect what others like and I won't go around dissing others who drive and like what they want. And as for pure sports cars...don't the Evo and WRX have the right to be seen as one? In Seoul, there are "ricers" who own fully fledged Evos and put stickers on them NOT because they want to impress but because they like to make their cars look a bit more lively which is fine with me.

But then, I reckon the poster had enough bashing for one day. What I really wanted to say was...Has anyone seen or heard of a Mazda RX-8? I've got so many pics from different magazines, its one car I won't forget. Besides its stunning good looks, its also involved in two parties. First, its obviously aimed at the Porsche Boxster S (or was it a Carrera? someone help me out here cause I'm not familiar with Porsches) cause its got a rotary 300bhp engine. And like the previous Astina, its got four doors but it looks like a sports car (get the picture?). But what I'm surprised is that cirtics are now labling this as an AMG/M3 rival just because its got four doors. What the f&^%? Since when did Porsche rivals become Beemer rivals? That's total injustice:)

Anyway, I still dream about "messing" up an Integra (new one), Skyline GT-R and Impreza. And I can't wait when Nissan releases its awsome Z-car. I can see that "ricers" (and myself, for that matter) will probably spend hours making this clean looking chic magnet as outrageous as possible.

And one more thing: "everybody who rices out their car does it for attention cuz they sure don't go fast. and you're definitely pushing it with 999/1000 people. just cuz some people don't know much about cars will still know it's retarded and it's just a little honda."

"Ricers" don't just necessarily put "stupid wings and stickers" on their cars. In fact, most also tweak their engines and increase torque or alter the power-to-weight ratio. And obviously, "ricers" should know a lot about cars if they are to tune their vehicles. Just don't call them retarded or mock their knowledge, cause you'll just end up losing face. I know you like pure sports cars. So do I. But a sports car is a sports car. There is no point differentiating between pure and "ricers".

I think this thread has had about all it can take and it is starting to go around in circles. "To each his own", I agree.
