last week had my 96 windstar scanned got codes 171 and 174 the guy at schucks said it was the o2 sensor so I replaced all the o2 sendors after 300 miles the check engine light is on again had the van scanned this times says 156 and 161 which is o2 sensor circuit malfunction and o2 sensor heater circuit malfunction not sure what I can do since just rerplaced all the o2 sendors. can someone please tell me how to fix this.. thanks..

checked the sensors they are all ok no wires fell out on the sensors.. have have read so many problems not sure what to do at this point. I do not want to keep spending money on parts that will not fix the problem
I don trust the dealers or the shops feel like I get ripped out when I take my car to the shop..

Double check the connectors, and wires....Make sure that none of the wires have fallen onto any hot exhaust parts. The original codes are more often vaccum leaks or MAF (Mass AirFlow) sensor (MAF can often be cleaned with non-residue electronic cleaner).
You might want to double check to verify that the replacement Oxygen sensors are correct replacements for your car.
Oxygen sensors are often replaced.....but very often are not the actual root cause of the problem.

where is the MAF located?

I did replace a rubber elbow that is on a vacuum hose that goes into the top of the intake.. the elbow had a big hole in it thought that I had fixed it til the check engine light came on.. could it possibly be dirty fuel injectors? I would like to just get the problem fixed. I don't like spending moey for parts and the problem isn't fixed.. I would appreciate any help or advice. than you in advance
