rear spoiler on '02

I was wondering if anyone has ever taken off the factory spoiler that comes on the impalas. I know its like 13 wing nuts underneath the trunk. but what im curious is has anyone ever measured the holes that are left by where the spoiler attaches. I want to take mine off and keep it off....for now but I dont want to have a body shop charge me an arm and a leg to fill and smooth the holes that were there. so I want to find some sort of rubber grommet or plug to put in the holes to seal them. also do I have to remove the taillights and trunk piece to remove my sport taillight covers. I belive they just pull off and clip on. thanks in advance.
