Is there a timing mark on the flywheel? I could not find one on the crank pully. or is it only checked by the scan tool?
Trying to find TDC.

Take an old spark plug that fits the engine (or buy just one), break off the ground electrode and attach a 1-1/2" extension to the center electrode (tack welding a piece of welding rod to the center electrode should work). Screw this plug in cylinder #1. Now rotate the engine by hand till it stops (piston hits the extension on the plug). Pick a reference spot on the timing cover and mark the balancer (soap stone works good). Then rotate the other way until it hits again and mark the second spot. Exactly 1/2 way between the two marks will be TDC on #1 cylinder.
