A question for automatic owners......

Does anyone have this problem their automatic......When at cruising speeds, at times the rpm's will go up slightly and back down some times over and over. It almost seems like the transmision is "hunting", down shifting then upshifting, although it does'nt feel like a full shift. Is this the trans or something else? How can I fix it?

hmm never really had that problem, do you have the EX/SI tranny? Or do you have the DX automatic? I notice with mine that sometimes when i step on the gas the rpms jump and the car goes nowhere for a sec, but then it catches. I think that's 14 years of wear and tear on the tranny, gonna hafta buy another automatic sometime soon from a junkyard or something :)

i notice that every so often when i tp the shifter down or something not hard just slightly. but i have no idea what it is. And im looking for a auto tranny right now b/c my first gear went out. so if you find something that works let me know too and good luck.

hmm go to www.risingsunengines.com and ask em for a quote for an automatic EX transmission and see how much they'll give it to ya for - i'd be interested if it isn't too expensive

Try adjusting your kickdown cable.

automatic choke maybe? My auto does that for 20 mins.

Where is the kickdown cable and how do I adjust it?

I have the DX auto trans, what's the difference from a Si auto?

Do you have a lockup converter? Sounds like its going in and out of lock up.
