mini me compression

can any one tell me exactly how much the compression ratio goes up on a mini me swap. I am buying a crx Si motor that has been bumped up to 10.5 to 1 with arias pistons and crower rods. So I know the internals are strong and can hold quite a bit. Any help would be much appreciated.

i think compresion goes from 9.1:1 on the si to something like 10.5:1 on the mini me so you'll probubly end up with something like 12:1. that pretty f**kin high

Yea, you might not want to get a mini-me swap, or change the pistons before you do 'cause you'll have to run race gas to get around lol

Was that a6 head ported and polished too?
Dunno how much more the VTEC will add, even if it didnt have a 12.1cr with those pistons

A motor built with all that and a hot cam will put out easy 140-150hp

MiniMe on a normal a6 (not that good an upgrade, get a z6 block) will only get about the same

You won't need vtec with high compression d16. Trust me. Get a cam and you'll be wondering why you keep smoking the tires through 3rd.

The compression would be pretty damn high. The head is untouched on the Si motor. Ill probably try to get it ported and a diff cam. Might get the head milled to bump up the compression a little. Would like to have about 11 to 11.5 to one. Thanks for the help.

Dang at 11 or 11.5 you will have to run high test with some additives or it will ping like a bitch.

Im surprised that someone went through the trouble of building the bottomend like that and didnt P&P the head, or get a good cam, kinda dumb...you never really realize the power of the motor untill you do everything.

My buddy has a B20 vtec running 11.5 to one. He runs hightest and has it tuned good, no problems. The guy Im buying the motor from started to go more to Show instead of go, so he never got the head done.

if you run a z6 head, it will be approx. 11.4:1. If you run a y8 head, it will be approx. 11.7:1. This is all using a stock z6/y8 head gasket.

I say do it. Get some ARP head studs, some sort of fuel tuning/vafc, and a wild cam and go with the Y8 head...

yep...z6 is off of a 92-95 civic ex/si and the Y8 is off of a 96-00 civic ex only.
