I have a 2000 impala 3.4 liter. When i start out heavy on the pedel it doesn't respond all that fast until the rpms start to climb. Sometimes it's hard to get the car to go into passing gear because the motor is bogging down a little bit. Also, when i'm doing about 65+ on the express way, my car just guzzles gas. I thought it was suppose to get better gas milage on the express way, because mine doesn't. If anyone has ideas or something i could try to fix or replace, let me know. It has about 82000 miles on it. At about 69,000 i put a new fuel filter on it, put new plugs and wires on it at about 60.000 miles. Thats just an idea of a few things i have done. Let me know

I have the same year and model car. It does the same thing some times. Don't know if its the engine or what. BTW, on my impala the intake manafold gasket blew cause of the crappy engineering on GM's part. It has metal than a plastic piece then the gasket. Just tought you should know sence you have the same year and model.

I'm going to pull my fuel injectors off and soak them in some chevy cleaner a buddy gave me. He said that the injectors get dirty in this area because the gas around here is shit!!!

I've been having the same problem. I just replaced my intake gaskets myself and when I got it back together the car wouldn't run. Couldn't figure it out. No codes or anything. Finally took it to the dealership and found that the cat was blocked. They wouldn't even quote me a price because they said it was to expensive. I asked them if I could put a Hi proformance cat on my car and they said yes. I had seeburg muffler put one on and the car runs better than new. I didn't know that the 3.4 had this much power. The car even sounds meaner. The best part it only cost $168 total. GM wanted over $600. Read my other post bad gas mileage.
