I'm in the process of doing an HF to DX swap in my '91 CR-X, let me tell you it is one problem after another...it runs and idles, but it runs like the ignition timing is all off, and i have it all the way advanced (i think), anyone have any ideas what might be the problem here? i'm using my HF intake manifold and i have an Si computer, does the exact same thing when i install my HF computer...also exhaust is running off the B-pipe (4-2-1 header/pipe)

what dizzy are you using?

if dizzy means distributor, im using the HF one...im almost positive that the HF and DX dists are the same, could be wrong tho

nope. hx & si = MPFI. dx = DPFI
did you do the wiring for the MPFI? you need to relocate c1 & c2 to b10 & b12 at the ecu plug. and run 2 wires from dizzy to c1 & c2. if you already did all that and it's not running right, you might have c1 & c2 backwards.

^ that always confuses me when i read it hehehe
from what i gather he has an hf and is installing a d15b2 (dx motor) into his car. so he wont hafta do the mpfi swap. it might be a timing belt issue that he's having. fouled plug, bad wire, bad injector, something, give us more symptoms to go by :)

alright...it runs and idles fine, but when i put load on the motor (acceleration) it bogs and sputters and runs like shit...it revs fine if its not being driven, meaning if i rev it standing still it goes fine...everything points to ignition timing, and i think i need the DX distributor...but i could be wrong...im using the stock HF wiring harness and intake manifold, Si throttle body...plugs and wires are good, no check engine light....so im pretty confused

timimg belt is good too (that i know of) but if its off a tooth or 2 could that be causing the problem?

do you have a hf or a si?
you need to keep the same dizzy with the same ecu. if you have a si ecu and using a dx dizzy or vice versa, that is your problem

the thing is, when i hook up my HF ecu it does the same thing.....same ecu as the dist....

ya u guys were right...timing was off 2 teeth at the crank..now its idling weird i think my EACV is messed up, revving up and bogging down

that may be a vaccum leak
