My car is a 2002 impala SS.
When I first press on the accellerator pedal after the car has not been used for a long period of time, for example, overnight, the throttle sticks. After one firm press on the pedal, everything works smoothly until the car has been parked for a while, and then the whole process repeats.
The dealer tells me that I need to clean the throttle body, but I don't see this procedure listed in the service manual. Do I need to dissasemble the whole thing, or can I just spray carb cleaner in through the MAF sensor screen.
Thanks for your help.

Take the snorkel off. This will allow you to see better. Get some spray carb cleaner and start have fun. When you start the car it will be a rough start due to the crud going through. You mayalso want to remove the IAC valve and clean it. Do not move the pintle in or out while cleaning. Rotating is okay. Also clean the IAC mounting hole. Good Luck.
