Check engine light and slow peddle response

My '88 CRX starts up just fine, but if its cold it idles at like 3000-3500 sometimes, which is really unsettling. (Goes back to normal once warm) But thats not the direct problem.(i think) After going a mile or so my check engine light comes on and the gas peddle has a delay from the time i push it to when the engine revs. Usually, you push the gas, the rpms increase right away, but after the light comes on, it takes almost a second for the car to react to me pushing the gas. Any suggestions on what could be causing this and how to fix it?

I would say whatever it is,is all the same problem,
I mean,
the idel will stay up to 3000 rpm when started cold,
maybe giving more gas,
& your also having problems with the gas pedal responding,
have you tried to give it gas from under the hood?
maybe see if its responding as quik,it could be the accelerator cable,
check the codes on what they mean,
I believe TSC just posted some up,
its definitly a fuel problem.

code 7 would be throttle angle, 14 would be electronic air control. Sounds like something in your throttle body is going screwy.

Thanks guys, ill give those suggestions a try. I was thinking it may be something to do with a sensor. Doesnt seem like theres anything mechanically wrong.
