Thanks for the warm comments :icon16:

Its raining over here so I'm itching for some sun so I can see if the pearl flakes show up on the body lines as much as I had hoped for. I used quite a bit of pearl white and interference blue in the paint mix but in a different manner in which I normally would.

I first painted the body in the base color (I ran out of white primer so it took me quite a bit of white coats to cover the body in the white that you see here) and then the panel lines in a dark gray enamel wash. I then went on to put in my pearl coat on. This is where I deviated... I used white paint as the carrier as pearl flakes in clear would produce a yellowish/cream color over a white base. It went on beautifully and toned down the overly distracting panel lines on the white paint. Next came three coats of Duplicolor automotive clear and polished.

The finish looks outstanding under my desklamp but it is very diffcult to see any of the pearl with the glossy finish. I'm hoping that it'll be as what I hoped for in the sun. I'll give you guys a shot in natural light when I finally get some sun in the area.

Since the digicam was out, why not... here's some pics. Not much work has been done to it since but I'm planning on finishing this one up soon though as the intention was to give it as a gift. It just so happened that the intended recipient got wind of the intended 'present' and asked for pictures. So why not share them with my AF community...

Two finished models in one year???

The only thing that I have left to do is find some mesh for the front end and a decal for the rear plate. I took the wheels back off the MR2 for this kit as I'm not too fond of the limited wheel choices that I have currently.

I have mixed feelings with how it turned out. Not what I envisioned but I think it works to an extent. The headlight lenses are bugging me... I might just pull them off and polish the edges to soften the look. Any opinions on that one?? Anyway, here are the "finished" pics--

Love to see ya back with some progress, build came out clean. What i would suggest would be to use a gundam marker, sharpie, or a tiny brush to paint the headlight inside black. The trim around it, maybe a 1mm or so. I think it gives it that extra nice touch and realism to it. Keep em comin.

This is what i mean......

Your customized bodykit work is brilliant i must say. But a little suggestion (i'm a novice so it might not be useful) but perhaps the edges of the headlight lenses could be painted with Semi-Gloss Black?

In my humble opinion it could look real good, but yours are already very good actually. Keep it up!
