Hood won't open

I need help!!! Yesterday I intalled my new radiator, and filled it up with coolant, and closed the hood, took for a spin, everything seemed fine, then wanted to check the coolant levels and get the air out, and I noticed that I couldn't open the hood anymore. It seemed as if the plastic piece would not do much till I had it pulled about halfway, only then would it grab, and when it was pulled out all the way, it didn't open the hood. Then I tried adding more force, by pushing on the cable while it was pulled out all the way. How do i fix it?

i had the same problem happen to my rex. take the cable off the back of the lever u pull on, and pull it w/ pliers to get u'r hood to pop. as for fixing it, i just got another used one.

have someone push down on the hood as your pulling the latch.

This happened on my car. The problem is right there on your handle. Feel around behind the handle and find the place where the cable comes in. If the cable drops 1/4 inch down, the hood won't open. If you push the cable up a little bit, then pull the handle, you get that extra little bit necessary for it to pop open.
Stay away from the pliers; you'll damage the cable.

PS-It's a cool trick, because after you've got it down pat, you're the only one that can open your hood! Consider it a security feature, and ask for an insurance discount!

My Civic does that sometimes too. You can usually walk to the front, push it down, and then pop it with the latch. Maybe the cable gets stretched over time?

on one of my friends cars we just pull the release and then go around and push the hood down and it would pop open, one person only.
