Illumination On Remote Activation

2001 Impala LS with remote keyless entry and GM dealer installed alarm with remote start.
My interior lights do not illuminate when I unlock doors with remote key fob. Interior lights come on only when I open door. Does anyone know how to correct this? :confused:
