weird problem

so i was driving home from work today it was raining and i was going about 40 in 3rd or 4th around a slight bank to get off the free way. it seemed that around 2000 to 2500 rpm it lagged if i pushed it alittle it would rock back and fourth and it was gutless but if i floored it it would pull out and act normal untill i slowed below and tried again. i turned my car off at a light and back on and it didnt do it anymore. any ideas im worried and i dont have money to fix it if it breaks.

What do you mean it rocked back and forth? Kinda like it sputtered a little or somethin? Sounds like either an ignition or fuel problem to me. Any codes?

yea it sputtered back and fourth i guess it was sputtering but it would be like rearrearrearrear and then id floor it and it would accelerate again. another thing is that when i would rock it would constily loose speed even though i never moved my foot. i have code 1 but thats cause i cant get it to go away even after i changed out my 02 sensor twice.

which screws the one on the outside? or do i have to take the black outside off im new to this stuff.

what kinda car you got, si dx, my si does the same thing also, acts gutless and ill floor it and it'll go, not quite as bad as yours though

take the three screws off the dizzy cap, the rotor is under it.

Fuel filter will usually mess up flow at higher rpms insted of lower rpms

I had that problem in my 92 Si. It was my spark plug wires. They were getting moisture in them. they looked perfect to me, but I swapped them and the problem was gone.

i have an 89 si crx im going to change out my plugs and wires and check my dizzy tommorow hopefull it wont happen anymore. it was raining out so it might be moisture.

k so i was changing some filters out and i put my finger on the wire by the rubber which is cracked and it zapped me. its leaking huh? or maybe its not but if it is i need new wires :(

what wire is this that shocked you ?

one of my plug wires around the rubber part that goes on the plug its cracked and i touched it and it zapped me my dad said thats usual because i was grounded and its only rubber.

If your plug wires are cracked and you are getting zapped when you touch them, it is time for some new wires.

k i have another problem i changed my plugs to +2 bosch platinums and didnt change the wires a (they are on order) now my car sputters real bad and i went from 350 to 400 miles on a tank to 180ish. also it smells pritty bad. i have my o2 light on but when the cel does come on it sputters less i think.... not sure maybe its in my head. the question is first one of my plug end into my dizzy scraped when you wiggle it... hard to explain but is it a bad wire? im guessing so. next can i and how do i rewire my o2 sensor changed it out 4 times now and no luck. got the connector one tried it no luck got it replaced no luck got the splice one tried it no luck tried to rewire my connector still no luck. can i goto home depot and get some wire and splice an o2 sensor to it and run it to where ever it goes? and where does it go? one last thing the cel only comes on when i let my car decelerate in gear if i put it in neutral and break it dosent come on. only when the engine is decelerating the car. any ideas?

i ordered some off ebay payed like 25 bucks for some obx red ones shipped so thats not the issue unless thye are retarded in that case i might take you up on the offer after i find out.

k so i changed my plugs it sputtered changed my wires it sputters it smells like gas really bad and im loosing gas mileage. still dont know if i can re-wire my o2 sensor.
