no; if you are running a PG7(88-89 teg) Auto and you car is a five speed it is going like shit. i have had a PM6(88-91si) in my car and it ran fine, know i have a PG7 and it runs great.

dont the 88-89 tegs use a lock up torque converter to shift instead of the ecu?

it'd help if you told us how it runs "cappy".

did you check all your wiring for MPFI?

is ur car standard or automatic? if its automatic then use an auto ECU. either a PM6 Auto, PG7 auto or PR4 auto. it should work fine. check the codes on ur ecu by counting the number of times it flashes consecutively without stopping/pausing. if it flashes 5 times. its a code 5. 9 times=code 9 etc... just keep counting because u may have more then one code. also, check the mpfi wiring and make sure u have the right plugs going to the right things.
