not a repost on this site, but most def a repost on clubcivic. And yeah I kinda agree that that looks fake. It looks like that EVO wasnt even trying. And at 22lbs...yeah right. Maybe If it was a k24 block with k20 head....but still...dont think it would happen.

Considering there were cameras in both cars, the clip is, as far as i'm concerned, fake. An evo running 22 pounds would definitely keep up with a k20. Let me see it in person or lemme see what the engines are putting out and i might believe it

i kinda did think it was fake cuz of the truck in the end , too bad you cant see the dash in the cars..
and i didnt see it on this forum at all, 88-91 civic crx is the only thing im on here on AF. that car is still pretty cool, sounds sick

I don't know guys. I mean it wasn't a race from a stop, so that killed the advantage the Evo has when taking off. And you could clearly hear the Civic hitting vtec as well as shifting gears. But who knows, the civic might have some internal work done and the evo may have not been pushing 22psi. But also you have to think about the fact that the first month the Evo8 was out in the states, the faster one was doing low 11's. And now the fastest one in the US is doing low to mid 9's, and that's a full race car. Who knows.

go on k20a.org and tell the guy who runs hybrid racing and the owner of the grey civic its fake. that video seems legit to me, considering ive seen a video where a bmw m3 keeps up with a evo8 with 18psi off the line and kill it afterwards. all about power to weight. im pretty sure that eg is under 2500lbs, while the evo is like 3200lb-ish plus the parasitic drag of driving all four wheels.

I killed an evo in my hatch... I was at a redlight and it was at the car lot next to the red light, the light turned green and I almost lit up one tire, it kinda squeeked a little and I had to be going like 10mph when I shifted to second and it was all over from there.

I personaly think the evo wasn't trying too. With 22 psi that evo is putting well over 300 hp out. There is no way a basically stock K20 hb would hang with it.

too bad you cant see the dash in the cars..
if im not mistaken u cant use the stock gauges...correct...the ecu just wont let u do it.....if this is correct, you can pause at one point where the dash is clear...and it has stock gauges. so if thats right then its not a k20

hell yeah...was teh EVO really racing?? Yea, in some of the other footage we are in the actual EVO.
I will get some of that up later on.
you can use the stock gauges, you just have to hook it up right. what makes you think its not possible? that car belongs to K20EG if i remember correctly. k20eg also stated he recommends the ctr dash; and if that is K20EG's hatch then its a 99 ITR cluster in there.

no its possible
Before the first couple of swaps were done, everyone talked about how had and what a nightmare it is going to be to make the 92-95 instrument cluster work with the k20a.... That is the electrical they were referring too.... Eric (K20EG) figure it out.... Hasport did as well and the rest is history... So now, there are no electrical problems if you use a alrady made harness..

It sure doesn't look like either of them are running anywhere close to 11's...or even 12's.
They stopped the video too soon, after I pulled on Silent at the red light, I caught up to them and smoked both of them, they just didn't want to put that in the video. I wouldn't either.

haha nice :)
the video looks fake but it COULD be real. I'd rather see em on a drag strip, it'd be a whole lot more legit. Street racing is stupid...

I kinda believe it because on the highway....the awd sucks. If it was supra boosting 22lbs...then its a different story.
