OK heres the deal i got my car back from the garage, and the dumbass couldn't get my car to start. But when i looked at my dist.cap the rotor was even on at all, im talking no screw was holding it in. This happen over the weekend driving back from orlando. when my car had just shut off on me during the way back. So i went ahead and bought a new one. After the install the car started right up. But the check engine light stayed on and the car was sputtering during accelartion. And when i turned it off and on the ecu was flashing 8 times if im reading it right. The book says its the tdc position. I wanna know what should i do to fix the problem. thanks richard

did the screw come out of ur dizzy?? if not its still inside spinning around and maybe causing damage. either that or ur firing order is wrong if u touched that, or ur timing belt jumped a tooth

While the screw is gone thats why i replaced it i dont think its still in there. The firing order is correct. But when i talked to the mech at the garage where i got my car looked at he had said the timing belt had jumped some teeth. But i assumed he fixed that when he put the valve cover back on. But maybe he didn't adjust the timing. But will the ecu spit out a code to keep the enigne light on just for the timing to be off? thanks richard
