Tranny

When I put the gear in drive or even reverse the car does not move, but it strats up and sounds fine. Before this happened the O/D off light was flashing then a dark liduid spilled out form underneath the car, it was smoking what do someone think about this is it the tranny? Could it be just a leak or will I have to replace the whole tranny?
