so, ive got this immaculate 58 vette, and replaced the engine in '91, (gotta love chevy, all the blocks are the same), anyway, started having problems about ohhh 2 yrs ago, never got time to work on it (kinda like my 85 rx7)
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=302903

anyway, started working on it along with the maz, and I got the vette to turnover, but no start, thought, oh wait, prolly needs gas, so, got gas, tried to put it in, to find out i apparently filled it up right before it died, so, its full of 1.5ish yr old gas (eesh), could it be that, or am i in for some more fun, keep in mind, the entire electrical system and motor was replaced in 91...

if you DO, infact think its the gas, how should i go about getting the old gas out, and new gas in... and do you bleed a gas line like a brake and clutch line? if so, where the hell is that on this baby?

Thanks.

unhook the line from the fuel pump at pass side of engine. it's the gas for sure.lay hose down into pan.
unhook the lead wire to the distributor and wind it over awhile before starting.
if no go ,change filter, if still no go you need to get the carb removed, disassembled, cleaned, and reinstalled.mike

Check to see if you have spark to the plugs before you go tearing into the fuel system. You didn't say what kind of ignition you have on this car, but if it is a point ignition you might need to do some maintenance on them. Joe

Sounds like the gas is flat!
Disconnect the fuel line. You don't want to get any bad gas in the carb. Open the throttle completely on the card and spray A LITTLE Starting spray in there. (You can get it at any Auto parts store) Close the throttle, and try to start the car. If it's bad gas only, the car will start for about 2-3 seconds. Don't spray too much in there, it's highly combustable, but it works great.
