There is a TSB for this concern....make sure that this has been done. If it has....you should have 1 black valve cover.....and one silver one......The silver cover has an improved baffle inside that is supposed to reduce the amount of oil that gets out and up into the intake.
I have a '96....that is not a part of the TSB program.....so others on this forum can provide you with LOTS of guidance.
The problem with idle is most often the Idle Air Control (IAC) which is located on the top of the upper intake manifold.....next to the throttle body.
Many have cleaned it with success......and most likely yours is dirty like the throttle body was.....also...is not real expensive as an aftermarket item.....and very easy to change. The IAC controls the air into the intake when the throttle body butterfly is closed......(At idle).

Heavy,
If you are having the troubles that the TSB Wiswind is referring then the rough idle can be caused by an intake leak.
Is your CEL on and if so what are the codes?
