A/C Switch Dead On Setting #1

On my 2001 Chevy Impala, the air conditioning switch on the first setting (1) was dead -- nothing turning, no fan working, but settings 2 thru 5 worked fine. I took it to the dealership and they found a faulty blower resistor (9.215 2Y CP), which they replaced under warranty. The switch works fine and air comes out normally.

I had the same problem, except mine only worked on setting 5. They replaced the blower resistor and it was fine.
