I recently purchased a 2002 Windstar Sport, I didnt get a owners manual or the Key pad code, is there anyway inside the van to find the default code so that I dont spend 150 bucks at the ford dealership to get it?

Question 2

I have back up sensors that are not working the switch just stays lit with them off, is there any troubleshooting techniques or anything I can look for to find the problem?

Thanks Tyson

You can get the owners manual online for free at the Ford site. It will tell you what to do. I just did this and It said that the passcode should be located in the glove compartment or taped to the computer module.

I would go to the Ford site and go to contact us. Then it will say "chat online with Kathy" or something like that.

Click that link and you will be taken to a help area. You can download your owners manual there.

As far as the computer module, I can't help you there. I am definitely not mechanically inclined.

I think its somewhere under the hood though. I am almost positive someone on here will know or I think the manual shows diagrams of where everything is at.

Good luck!!

**************edited to ask, did you call Ford?

When I called there customer service they told me to contact the dealer, And the dealer told me bring it in, and will hook it up to the computer ($100 charge) for the code, I prefer to look for it myself thanks Mr Ford dealer :)

Yeah thats why I kept looking on there. I am not going pay some dealer who is going to charge me $100 bucks to give me a code they will probably find in less that five minutes.

Thats ridiculous. I would try that manual online for your car year. I haven't totally looked at it yet as I am busy working, but I am sure there is some sort of guidance of where it is.

Otherwise they have a whole help section and its probably there or you could contact cs via email or 800 number and see if they could tell you exactly where the computer module is.

When my fiance gets home, I will ask him where it is. He probably knows and I am sure we are going to have to find it too.

Hi
I have a '96 so that is my frame of reference. At the bottom of the center console I think you have a large U shaped trim piece with a storage compartment. Remove that. You should find the keyless entry computer near the floor and near the firewall. Look for a box around 3x3x2 with an antenna lead similar to an am/fm antenna lead on a radio. The default code should be taped to the box. You may have to remove it to see it.
Good luck.
