Looking for some help with some problems I have been having.
The first one is in regards to my radio. One day about a month or so ago I turned on my car put the radio on FM and all I got was static. Every station is static. My CD player and Tape player both still work fine its just I can't get in any radio stations.
The second problem just happned. I was at a stop light, the light turned green, I accelerated and the car kinda skipped. I was like it didnt want to go forward, it putted along a few times and finally kicked back into gear it seemed like and went along fine. Then when I finally got home, I was attempting to back up into a parking spot, put the car in reverse lightly pressed the gas and nothing, the car didnt move, the engine reved yet nothing. A second later the car putted back into the spot.
It seems like my trans is slipping but I can't really be sure.
Just wondering if someone out there has some assistance for someone who doenst know much about cars before I go and get ripped of by a mechanic.
THANKS

Check that your antenna is still connected to the radio, and that your transmission fluid is at its specified level on the dipstick (remember you have to check it with the engine running).

your antenna is in the rear window, check your connection there too. Your radio may need replacement if both of these connections are fine.
Your transmission fluid should be red, if it is brown then have your transmission fluid and filter replaced. Check the fluid level for sure with the engine running and at operating temperature. Smell fluid to see if it smells burnt as well. When you get the fluid changed(which you probably should anyway) make sure the tech that does the job checks the magnet on the transmission pan for metal filings. These cars are notorious for transmissions. Just ask any police precinct in the country.

In regards to the radio static. I only have that problem when my redio is ON and I press the Rear defrost button I get static. With the button Off I get clear stations. Anyone else experience this problem?
