has anyone bought the programmer for the new impalas. because me and my friend are thinking about splitting the cost of it and useing it on our cars since there the same engine and trasmission and everything, but I read that it can only be used on one vehicle since it uses the vin number to determine what type of engine and transmission the car has. I dont want to waste $350

I highly doubt that,I mean do you really beleive the GM garage has a programmer for every car that someone buys? hardly. you may have to type in a vin or the programmer may read the vin out of the ROM memory, but whoever said each car had to have its own was probably pullin your leg.

no, where i might buy it from it says right there on there website that it can only be used on one vehicle. not that it is only for that certain vehicle, and that certain vin. the programmer plugs into the car and reads the computer and finds the vin number and thats how it determines the engine sie and transmission type and those things, and I think thats why it says it can only be used on one vehicle, is that once you change your computer to get more horsepower or whatever you cahgne, that it remembers it and stores it. but im not sure, that why I want to nkow if someone has bought it and used it on more than one vehicle.
I dont nkow if this link will work but this is what I want to buy
