I've been on this forum for a few months now. I realize that i am at least twice the age of the average person on here, but I have to give my 2 cents if its ok.
I know I'm gonna offend alot, but most of you are idiots. There a select few that are smart and do know what they are talking about,very knowledgable, but most talk out their ass.
I have been a mechanic for 24 yrs. I do have an understanding of how a car works, front to back and in between.
I sit back and laugh at some of the "knowledge" that is thrown about on this forum
And just for the record, I have a 93 DX coupe,d15b7
auto trans, turboed, lsd, all the normal suspension goodies.
bare bones interior, no need for subs, I don't listen to that music anyway.
no body kit but I do have 15s with dunlop qualifiers.
for all you NEWBIES to the go fast game, it's called
"power to weight ratio"
Go ahead and call each other names cause the other doesn't have the same exhaust as you, or the wrong side skirts.
we all have a common like and we all should get along and help the other, but I know thats not possible, at least not on this forum

Come on man, you call yourself an old-time car guy, but you think that car people of different mindsets get along ANYWHERE? try getting your avarage classic car nut to admit that anything "import" might actually be fast, or look good... and try getting an import fanatic to compliment someone with a just-rebuilt 440 v8 with a roots-type supercharger in their cherry Nova...

Of course, there are people like me (and presumably you) who enjoy cars, everywhere, for the sake of being cars. There are people here, and on every other forum, who know jack shit, and make stuff up to sound good... welcome to the internet. There are people who know a LOT about some things, and BS about the rest, and people who know nothing, but are at least willing to listen and learn... those are the good newbies ;)

Hey, If i can get along with the guys here, and on the Dodge forums, and on the general car forums... must be doing something right, eh? Maybe because two of the cars I want are (in order of when I found that I desired them) a 1969 Chevy Camero SS, cherry red, black ragtop, and a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VIII, '96 honda civic silver, with the trim reduced the the base Lancer trim...

Ihave had my share of mustangs and camaros over the years. and I will admit, I did intend to piss of the "supposed informed". shit, i have a big block 74 jeep pickup that is an asskicker to drive, gets 10 mpg and is uglier than hell, but its mine. I also lpve my civic, but in and in a different way, cause its a different car, intended for a different purpose.

heard that, my civic is gettin 34 mpg, its my daily driver, I commute 65 miles every day, but I have fun doin it, on-ramps, corners, wherever I can get the thrill......

and just sold my 89 camry,2 liter, auto. And my civic beats it hands down,lol

honda has a great idea going for them
you can buy an efficint car w/ low maintanins and have a little spunk

This forum acts like every other forum on the NET. There are stupid people and knowledgable people. You can expect everyone to get along, especially when people do not use the search button, or ask a quesion that was asked yesterday. im with all of you who say a car is a car. im a fan of driving, working for something(going faster, making things better), and just having fun with cars. I am on these boards because I have a problem with my car. My civic is overheating and now has a blown gasket (maybe). I will continue to stay here and help in things I know about. I also thank anyone who helps me with my problem.

I believe he was refering to all the newbies that have been asking stupid questions over and over again. Like; "who will win between these car", "how will my car do in the ¼ mile with these mods", "which engine will be best for my car", etc. All those questions are pointless or have been answered (well the engine one anyways). And not to mention that "frankie" loser who feels the need to come up with 2 new screennames everyday and spread misinformation. Stay here long enough and you'll be saying "newbies suck lately" too. You start to see the same stupid questions time and time again and it gets annoying at times. But questions about problems with cars are always welcome, that's what this board is mainly for.

And a lot of the time it's because people come on here and ask about getting their cars faster and then post questions about which bodykit or 17's they should get; and those 2 questions don't go together at all. You want to get fast, you've got to get rid of all the extra "bling" that only adds weight. The days of big rims and crazy bodykits is over with, it's all about ¼ times nowadays.

Yea I know what you're sayin... I didnt read the whole thread, but i was defending you guys. Cause this guy was talkin about how experienced he is and smart about going fast, yet he's driving an automatic which is slower and takes no skill to drive. That's the definition of a hypocrite to me

And those automatic transmissions are designed for drag, street car automatics are designed to be smooth. Standards are faster, and you have more control over your car/engine in street cars

You can have a quick civic and have 17's on it. Although it's not a good combo, I still want a turbo gsr AND 17's. Maybe a simple body kit or a lip kit. A built gsr with a turbo would be quick and you still have all your bling With the 17's. Maybe it's not as important to look good for older members who are married already, but me, I'm 15 years old and I get to take my car to school somedays, and truelly, it feels good driving by the girls or the haters and just having them stare. Then they come up the next day and comment you about it.:sunglasse(not the haters):nono:

If I was 23 again and had the use of both knees, I would have a manual trans, but unfortunatly, life plays tricks on you as you get older. and believe me, after you drive an auto trans long enough, you get good at it. why do you think companies like B&M and others exist?

have bean for about 30 years. i respect what you do and i know that it is not an easy job (i skiped school and helped him put together engen when i was 12).
But if you are so good and know so much why dont you just give as some good advaice not say that people here are dumb.

Seriously this is a tech forum, I, personally, don't really give a fuck about what she looks like or what color thong she has hanging out her pants. If you went back to the thread, his reply was on the same level as the thread itself.
