loss of transmission fluid mean no transmission?

it checks out OK on dip stick. Speed sensor correct engine light? 2nd tranny with only 107K miles. New engine. When I drive forward clunky sound and wheel vibrates. 96 FOR SALE in Santa Rosa CA for $2900. 707 566-8106 needs a mechanic buyer.
