actually dave coleman's silvia has a quaif lsd with some big wide 245 nitto NT555R with super light weight volk racing CE28's set at 15 psi of tirepressure. he tried changing it to 12, but the tires endded up cupping the pavement, and it got slower so he raised it back up to 15psi. so its wasn't like hes not running anything to help traction. his car would only do a 12.9 at 110mph.

also your saying that a F360 modena is actually a 12 flat car if you put some more aggressive tires on it? i doubt you can really shave off 7 tenths on the 1/4 from changing a set of really aggressive tires ( stock modena ) to slicks.

also a 2.2 that you got is very good 60ft time for a car with open diff.

taht is what most stock cars can get that is equip with a LSD from the factory.

edit: and RazorGTR can only do a 12.01 @ 118mph and he's driving a freaking AWD GTR. so traction off the line is not a factor. or how about jeckle and hyde? his sponsered drag MR2 can only run a 11.7 @ 121mph ( average number ) his best E.T is actually 11.6 @118mph which is still waaay under compared to the trap speed in your cases. his best mph is 123mph in 11.8. shouldn't he be in the 10's with that trap speed? and hes running drag radials making his 60ft in the 1.8, 1.6 area.

2.2 is a good time for open diff, i dont doubt that.

if i had an lsd, i'd be doing a 13.0 or 12.9 with a 2.0 60', at around 106-108.

slicks... 12.7-12.8.

like i said, every car is different. you cant compare a gtr to a 240sx, they are completely different platforms. 11.6 is not bad for a 118mph, thats about right on par. i don't know what you are trying to get at. at 123... he should be in low 11's. he IS having a problem hooking up (with that trap). he's only running dr's and a 1.8 60'... which aint too shabby, but if he'd get slicks on there he'd be doing 1.5's's, and that would probably be enough to get him in low 11's.

he's only running dr's. get some slicks on him and his traction will be better, and his times will be slightly better. he is almost on track with a mid 11's though, especially with a 1.6 60'. i have a 2.2........ that is more than a half second less than his. im having major traction issues.

isn't that silvia an upped turbo? if he can't get deeper into 12.9's he has to learn how to drive, or needs more bolt ons.

even drag radials are miles apart from 'aggressive' factory tires which in the Ferrari case are Potenza S-02A, laughable 'drag' tires.

Get a set of pure slicks on that ferrari and I bet it'd clip a 12.0 ...

My best time from 27 runs (in the one day mind you) is a [email protected] with 1.999 60' (although track temp was 41degrees/106F and i hit the rev limiter in 2nd due to wheelspin). All of my other runs have been 2.2-2.4 60' and 13.2-13.4 times even though i consistantly run 112-114mph. Heck, i did [email protected]! I used 245/45/16 Falken FK451s @ 20-22psi, LSD (albeit worn), and 'pineapples' set to grip.

Its all good to say 106-108mph could be a 12.9, but its going to need a perfect situation to get that in a street car.

Man, that is one clean engine mynismo. Where did you get that and how much was it? Did you have to clean it up after you got it or was it already that clean?

PS This was probably all said somewhere back in some dusty old threads; however, instead of looking through the forum, I thought it would be easier for you to just say it since I think some newer members are wondering the same thing.

Good stuff... :p

sounds like you are going down a crappy track. no other explanation needed. either that or you don't know how to drive if you are still pulling down 2.4 60's with an lsd. you should be doing consistent 2.0's. i do consistent 2.2's with open diff and regular street tires.

i cleaned the bay up a LOT... the motor was fairly clean when i got it, but they bay was covered with dirt and horribly ugly. here's before/after:
