Wow, getting a little sensitive. Your right though. Did do a re-read on that and it did come off a little asshole-ish and I have never been accused of being a mountain of knowledge before so don't worry I won't let it go to my head not that there's much there and I apologize.

OK since we have questions about cars other than Camaro's.
What was the smallest displacement engine available within the United States between 1970 - 2004 in the Corvette and what year/years was it used?

Wow, I have no idea on that one was never a big Cadillac guy about the only thing I know about the Cadillac is in reference to the Northstar and Just to take a stab in the dark I know they did have a Cadillac that was a body double to the cavalier that came out somewhere around that time but I don't remember the name of the car.

What four banger domestic car could tear a new one in a 5.0/z28 and hold its own with a GN for 8k???
FormulaLT1
10-05-2004, 04:17 PM
What years or time period was it produced in?
FormulaLT1
10-05-2004, 04:27 PM
The only 4 banger domestic car I even heard was suppose to be fast but I learned was nothing at all was the Turbo Coupe T-birds. Thats all I'm coming up with and then there was the peppy Quad 4's GM used but a GN would kill them. I give up.

Are you mad?. Those 1.8 and later 1.9 -2.2 Turbo Chrysler engine where dog's they would get killed by a GN. I thought of those and went right past them because they were slow.

Check the Stats show me one of those cars with a better than 7.0 0-60 or under 15.2 1/4 mile. They where quick for what people paid for them but no means close to GN area

Also the mad max car was a ford from australia. Its like a t56 or something like that. I only think the t-birds came supercharged, not turbo'd (could be wrong there, never cared to learn about the t-birds, only f-birds)
FormulaLT1
10-05-2004, 06:10 PM
The stripe could be had on any year in between and first there was the 2.3 Turbo Coupe Thunderbird or TC for short and then the V6 supercharged SC took over which was faster than the TC.

Dont forget a domestic car with a 4 bang is the SVO mustang, and they can be fast. Nothing spectacular stock but i've seen a 4 cyl SVO run 9.2@142 (nowhere near stock though).

Your talking about the 2.3 1984 SVO Mustang right with like 175 horsepower and 210 lbs of torque. They where faster than most in that time but still nothing special besides that the same engine as the Turbo Coupe although your right I should have mentioned that car because its faster than the TC because its so much lighter but still not breaking into 14's or 0-60 under 7 seconds
will69camaro
10-05-2004, 07:53 PM
i wasn't sure on stock speed of the SVO i just know the one in my hometown area is the fastest 4 bang svo in the nation... i have the webpage somewhere but i'll have to find it. 700rwhp from a 4 bang is pretty decent LOL.

Wow he must have a whole lot of shit in that car and its much easier to do that to a 5.0 Mustang even though the SVO(special Vehicle operations) are usually more expensive
will69camaro
10-05-2004, 08:05 PM
he did it with the svo because he wanted to say he did it with a 4 bang...he could have easily built a 5.0 to do it (as alot of our friends back home have) but he's doing it with the svo...kinda more of a novelty. Plus it's super light and he still drives it to the track to run the 9 second passes...and it's about to get faster (T76 leaving for a T88 or bigger)

However she knows her stuff...Worked with a friend building his forged 281 in his 99 cobra that runs 10s and is a daily driver :)
1980 vette by the way.
