how do i remove the steering arms?

I've been trying to remove them arms that steer the wheels right uner the car, I forgot what they were called but i cant pull it apart from the steering wheel part, I pulled off this big bolt that had a spring inside it but other than i dont see any other bolts holding it..... any help would be appreciated.

if you mean the whole steering rack, its quite a chore.

theres a universal joint that must be loosened on the steering column. look under the dashboard, theres a plastic cover around the column and under that is the u-joint.

as far as getting the rack out from subframe, you are gonna have to take the tie rod ends off of the rack, loosen all the mounting hardware that holds the rack to the subframe, and then cuss and swear for hours as you try to shimmy, wiggle, shake, and force the rack out of the subframe.

i found the easiest way to get it out is to take the whole subframe off the car, and take the rack out on a table.

^^Yea, its really a pain in the ass. Ive never tried taking the subframe off though.

Hehehe, I dont know, when i bought the car, it was already on there, but it's not there anymore.

Wait a minute, we still have to remove the u-joint to remove the subframe right? That's supposed to be the easy way?

nice demo, but that was done way b4 i got stuck under the subframe.
