stuck in park

The safety won't release and allow the car to put into reverse.....even
with my foot on the brake....also noticed the brake lights not
working....thoughts??

the safety may be controlled by the brake light circurt, check the BRAKE fuse, if it blows every time you hit the brakes, you have a short somewhere(or a bulb is not in right)

I had the same problem before. Whenever the brake light fuse is blown, then my car wouldnt move out of park. It was fixed by putting in a new fuse. I guess in a way that could be considered a saftey feature, but I found it to be extremely annoying.
