soo i turn on the motor and than i hear good news the new mtoor turns on first time. but i look at the tach and its at a grand and win it drops below that it wants to die and some times on it own it well go up to 2400 rpm but it well go up to that really slow. and win i kick on the gas it goes up but not down. what did i do wrong?

check the cam and ignition timing. change plugs and wires, cap & rotor. check for vacuum leaks.
then clean the EACV screen.
then replace the throttle body gasket.
if it still does it,i dont know what to tell you :P

if the throttle body gasket is bad, then air will leak out/in and cause a fluctuating or high idle. I've seen it many times.
