Starting problems

I own a 1993 Buick Park Avenue Ultra Supercharged. When I start the car the RPM first goes up to 1500 then drops to 200: now either it goes back to normal 700 or just shuts off. This problem occurs every start.

Sounds like an ignition module, thats about a 200 part. It's located under the coil, and has an epoxy on it, which sometimes melts under engine temps. Does it ever just refuse to start, but you can come back later and start it?

sounds like a dirty Idle Air control valve... It might be dirty and sticking.. how does the car run otherwise? Also could be a fault mass air sensor or air temp sensor.. do you have any codes or check engine lights?

The car always starts, however a few seconds later it may shut off.

The car runs good overall. But I have some questions:
1. When the car is in Drive(D) and I hold the brake pedal too long (ex. long light) the car starts to tremble, when I release the break pedal the vibration dissapears. What is causing this?
2. When AC is on and I push the brake pedal there is a noise (like air escapes from somewhere). What could it be?
3. When I push the car, after I release the accelerator there is a burning smell (something like a burned rubber smell). I mean pushed not from the start, but from some speed. What is wrong?
Otherwise the car is a Beauty & the Beast.

ok, In this case, I would definetly check for a vacuum leak, possibly to the brake booster or the booster itself might have gone bad. If you get a vacuum leak that large the car will stall , run rough and surge. If your smelling burning, either the vacuum line is burning on the headers, or something else is going on, possibly running extremely rich due the vacuum leak killing your catalitic converter... check for leaks first and get back to us.

The car has no leaks at all thanks god. By the way when I hear the noise while AC is on and I push brake - it has no effect on the braking itself, just the noise.

:banghead: i have supercharged 1993 buick park avenue ultra that sometimes will just turn over but not start. if i wait awhile ( sometimes 5 minutes +) it then usually starts. i have just had the ignition changed and new keys because the module was not sending to the starter. it was good for two weeks and now seems to want to re-occur
