new b16a swap engine running like poop

We just completed a 90 jdm b16a w j1 trans swap into 90 civic hatch si. Everything is complete, no codes are flashing from the ecu. It idles pretty good but when i drive it ( put load on it) It gets to 3-4k and starts to hesitate and almost feel like it is hitting the rev limiter. IT feels like the timing could be off but it revs fine at idle. Any ideas?

the car was sitting for a while so the gas could also be bad, we put 93 in and some fuel system cleaner. I am going to start replacing small things like plug wires, cap, rotor, etc.

ecu not throwing any codes. pr3 ecu
Any help would be nice
thanks

Check your timing and make sure its right, maybe your timing belt slipped a tooth?

Did you do your own wiring?

It wouldn't be the wiring if hes not throwing any codes.Yeh just check the timing. Changing cap, rotor , wires, and plugs would be a good idea. While your at it just change the coil also.

Yes, yes it could be. My wiring was fucked for over a year and my car was slower than a ZC powered hatch because my wiring at the distributer and ECU wasn't shielded properly. There were no codes, and everything else worked fine. (VTEC engaged) But the timing was way off and there was no explination. It took a long time before I found someone who knew wiring well enough to know what it was and fix it.

Hmm i dunno bro? I think i had the same problem what u just said...my v-tec didn't kicked in as hard as usual. So when i tried mess'n with it and the check engine light came on and off. The wire was lose. Wait nevermind it was from the ecu plug and i had re sodder the pin. I still think yours should've thrown a code or something?

WAY NOT TRUE look at my car NO codes and running 2189 ppm on NOX reason dist. did not have sheild wire around the TDC sensor so it was miss firing. Not the only problem HIGH compression has some to do with it but I fixed the TDC wire and the ppm are down to 786 still fails but its lower.

My thought on the problem is also Timing It may be advanced on the timing belt.

SO u need the shield wire just to keep it from misfiring? Well anyways i've never been in that situation so i didn't know.

Ya the shield keep any RF (raido freq) from getting into the wire causing the signal to not get to the ECU correctly. But since the ECU was getting the signal it didnt see a problem. Kinda shitty but thats honda.

well, It was the plug wires, as i thought
i changed them and it ran nice, vtec hits nice and it is insanly loud ( no exhaust, just header)
runs nice now but the idle started fluctuating

up down up down up down.
I think it is the pcv valve

Where is it going up and down to and from? Mine on 2 different B16s has went up and down and its been the fast idle control valve.. Bouncing from around 2000 - 750 like crazy.
