also, do the rocker arms just sit there and not bolt in? how do you set the valve lash on them? and what kind of bolts can you use to bolt the cam caps down as i am missing some of the bolts.
also, any suggesttions with it? like what should i do with the cam gear cover? paint it or something? if so what colour? and thoughts and ideas with this? lemme know what u guys think.

also, whats the piece called that threads onto the end of the fuel rail on the distributor end?

Dude...I would definitely use the term "loosely", very loosely. lol :lol2:...that thing looks like a bunch of parts just hanging out.

So, what parts are you missing on the cam cover?? The valve cover studs?? I see the two of them in the front...I bought a bunch of 89 Integra valve cover studs and they were wrong :( If you are missing some, the ones that fit the ZC are actually from a b18 out of a USDM 90-93 Integra. I had to buy those, so I can look up the part # for you.

So, the ZC is the only motor I know that needs d16a6 parts, d16a1 parts, and b18a parts :bigthumb:

i have all the studs, i need the gromet things that go around the studs to keep everything aligned, but i need the bolts for the caps that hold the cams in, the guy forgot to give me those bolts (bastard) also, what throttle bodies can i use for this motor? will the one off d16a1 work?

and how can i set the valve lash on this motor? cuz the rocker arms are really weird! definately NOT like the d15b2 lol,

What did you use to get the bottom end so clean, it looks really nice.

yeah the rocker arms just sit in place, Looking good My bottom end is almost finished, I just need a few parts back from the machine shop and can do the final assembly of my Totaly custom Frenkenstein motor.

always replace any bolts that u are missing with original OEM bolts from the dealership or get them from the same or similar motor from the junkyard.
as for the bolt at the end of the fuel rail...it's called a banjo bolt.

ok, cuz on the car i saw at the junkyard, it looked like it had a filter of some type screwed onto it, i duno, and i was gonna get bolts from the ZC at the junkyard most likely,

for the bottom end i used simple green to clean it then painted it with that silver paint :)

I'd leave the timing gear cover off. I like the look of two gears just sitting out in the open, nuts flapping in the breeze

aight dude...valve cover washer is what you need -
http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/
Hit up the 89 Integra (model doesn't matter, all had a d16a1) and go to the "Cylinder head cover" section...their part # is 85799 - I dunno the real honda part number without looking on my invoice stuffed away in a drawer somewhere.
For the bolts...go to the "cylinder head" section and see if you can find what you need there. For OEM, this is the cheapest place I've found. The only thing is to make sure you have all your shit together when you order..they charge ~$7-10 shipping in the US, and a $5 (US) handling fee on every order for some shmuck to go pull the parts off the shelf and ship it to your happy ass ;)

you can adjust your valve lash one of two ways...

you can take a feeler gauge and "rip it" length ways to make it half the width, so it fits inbetween the rocker and valve, or you can just check the clearance in between the cam and the cam follower pad of the rocker, which will be just a TINY bit less accurate, but will work and be easy to do.

i'm aiming for after labour day weekend cuz i think i might be getting drunk all weekend at the beach lol, mainly cuz me and my woman split up, and its gonna be awhile cuz the money order i sent for my timing belt came back! because we put clear tape over the stamp, its fuckin ghey, so thats a hold back now, i'm gonna get the head sent out and get new oil seals put in, btw.... what ones can i use? 89 integra?

yea i think i might do that or paint it silver, atleast if i dont like it i have the option of covering it, or painting the cover or wutever lol, i was conna put a couple holes in the cover so u can see the gears still tho

yea i think i'm just gonna run 2 the junkyard today and snag some bolts and some valve cover washers, prolly the easiest thing i can do right now lol but if i need 2, i'll use that link

alright, sounds good to me, i'm not ready to do it yet but when i am then i'll hafta remember this

also, to make it more accurate, can i make the feeler gauges bigger/smaller to get the right reading between the cam pad and the follower? or just use the actual spec and not worry?

well, went to the junkyard today, picked up a throttle body (busted tps tho so now i need one of those!) got the RIGHT plugs wires this time, got all the bolts for the cam caps, and also snagged a fuel pressure gauge that bolts onto the fuel filter

Hey engine looks pretty sweet. I have a ZC sittin on the side im not sure what im doin with it though. I want to rebuild it and like yours frakenstien it, or sell it im not sure. But i have a ZC in my rex, and ill let you know. My cam cover rubs on the hood, so unless you get the JDM hood with the bump for the cover, i would leave it unpainted or leave it off and have your "nuts" swingin in the wind(which i wouldnt do unless your not too suseptable to weather, dirt, or something else). how much did it cost you to rebuild your head? Im thinkin a port N polish with cams, roller rockers, adj. cam gears, valves, the whole 9 yards. I have an extra ZC head and manifold....um....and 2 SI heads. Shoot i even have a VIS "Flared Mugen body kit" im lookin to sell, unused still in plastic wrappers and box. Desided to keep the sleep look.

hmmm, well the head hasnt been touched as of yet, i'm trying to find the right valve seals for it, my d15b2 head costs 80 bux for them to clean it up and install new seals, that included removing the cam and installing it again, so since i have the cams out of this head already, it might be a bit cheaper, i dunno,

also, would u wanna trade the mugen kit for something? or how much are you looking to sell it for? i wanna kit my car but i mainly want the sideskirts, i'll pm u with what i may wanna do and lemme know if u think its fair :)

EDIT: just realized i cant PM u for some reason? :eek7: lol
well what i'm thinking is i'll trade you my Integra seats for the side skirts and door caps of the mugen kit. if u think its fair let me know, cuz i really want side skirts for my car, maybe a new front bumper too but i dunno if u'd go fo that so thats why i'm offering for the skirts only right now, i dunno, we can try to figure something out here

Derek, where r u from? What condition r the seats in? what year r they? im not sure how or what thoughs seats r like. and i NEED a black rear bumper. OH! and how did you get though pix posted with your reply?

1PhatCX
08-27-2004, 12:48 PM
i uploaded the pics onto cardomain and then copied the links here and used the {IMG}link{/IMG} tags only using [] instead of {}

seats are in good condition except the usual rip on the driver seat bolster, drive seat also has the lumbar support in it, u can see the pics in my sig, dunno what year they are tho, also, i wont be able to get a black rear bumper, and i cant take mine off because i fiberglassed it on lol, and i'm from ontario Canada

the seats are really comfortable tho, its just i came across a set of Si seats so i'm getting those instead :)

EDIT: also, is the kit for a CRX or Civic?

91CRXTC
08-27-2004, 01:44 PM
The body kit is for a crx, so the front bumper would be different and im not sure about the doorcaps and sideskirts though i dont think the skirts would fit either.so it looks like we r both screwed.

Posey, ya think that hood would fit on a 91 crx ? What year is your car?

Posey88cvic4dr
08-27-2004, 07:37 PM
What hood are you talking about? and my car is an 88 LX, but i don't think the sedan hoods match the crx ones....hence no after market hoods for the 4g4d :-/

Hilikus Funkin
08-27-2004, 10:04 PM
no crx hoods are alot smaller than the sedans but there are aftermarket hoods on ebay for the 4 door, theres only one choice and its pretty cool.
