came home from a buddys house today and noticed when i stop the engine revs itself up every 5-10 seconds or so when its ideling at a redlight or something like that. Drives fine and it revs to maby 1500 or less (hard to tell, no tach) so you cant tell at all unless you turn the radio off. Its not throwing any codes and it doesnt do it when its in gear. anyone had this issue?

yeah i get it in my auto civic when i'm parked, it has to do with the a/c, when the a/c kicks up a notch so does the car revving, or at least that's what my car does. check it out for your car.

this might sound crazy but was your blinker on? my rex did a little revving of it's own when my blinker was on. My battery had been jumped too many times, and it hardly had enough power to run even the smallest electrical. so I had electrical pulses going through the car effecting the fuel system.

nope, even turned the sterio off and it did it. Didnt mention it up there, but it does it repeatedly, not just once.

Vac leak can cause this problem. take some water in ia spary bottle and squirt it on all the Vac hoses it the motor dies you found the leak.

my civic does this once and a while. I've tried to fix it many times but never have been sucessful. Check vac lines. Also check your throttle cable if it is adjusted right.
